I have been writing a one year mindfulness course for the last couple of years, in response to seeing my NHS colleagues struggling to cope with the demands of the pandemic. I decided to put together a structured training package that I hope will help people discharge a lot of the tension they pick up in their minds and bodies as a consequence of the challenging work they are faced with on a daily basis. I looked at what the latest science had to say about trauma and then designed a range of practices to help release it. I also took a deep dive into the basics of a health and well-being strategy to encourage other to follow a similar path.
I am currently trialing the one year and 8-week version of this course as we speak with a mixed group of health care staff. I haven't decided on a name for the course yet, hence mega mindfulness. Watch this space........
